About Marlene Streeruwitz
Marlene Streeruwitz, born in Baden near Vienna, studied Slavic languages and art history and began her career as a director and author of plays and radio dramas. She has received numerous awards for her novels, most recently the Bremen Literature Prize and the Lower Austrian Cultural Prize. Her novel Die Schmerzmacherin. (2011) was shortlisted for the German Book Prize. Her latest novels with S. Fischer are Nachkommen. and Die Reise einer jungen Anarchistin in Griechenland. (both 2014).
