About Viola Roggenkamp
Viola Roggenkamp, from a German-Jewish family and born in Hamburg, studied psychology, philosophy and music. She went on to travel and spent several years living around Asia and in Israel. Now a writer and journalist, she has since returned to Hamburg. Her bestselling novel Familienleben, published in 2004, has been translated into several languages, followed by her major essay Erika Mann - eine jüdische Tochter in 2005.
