A young woman is found dead on the beach at the resort town of Westerland on Germany's North Sea island Sylt. She has been arranged like a work of art in a wicker beach chair. When well-known business man Hubert Mönchinger reports that his wife Marga has gone missing, it seems the case is closed. Going by photographs, the dead woman is Marga Mönchinger. But when Hubert Mönchinger is brought in to identify the body, he testifies that the woman strongly resembles but is not his wife.
Marga Mönchinger is still nowhere to be found, and the top team at the Sylt police department – Sven Winterberg, Silja Blanck, and Bastian Kreuzer – is faced with questions. Racing the clock, the detectives search for information in either case. But they are far from prepared for what they find...
