The sun rises on the beach at Westerland. A red-haired woman sits in a beach chair, unmoving. She is young, she is beautiful, and she is dead...
A young woman is found dead on the beach at the resort town of Westerland on Germany's North Sea island Sylt. She has been arranged like a work of art in a wicker beach chair. When well-known business man Hubert Mönchinger reports that his wife Marga has gone missing, it seems the case is closed. Going by photographs, the dead woman is Marga Mönchinger. But when Hubert Mönchinger is brought in to identify the body, he testifies that the woman strongly resembles but is not his wife.
Marga Mönchinger is still nowhere to be found, and the top team at the Sylt police department – Sven Winterberg, Silja Blanck, and Bastian Kreuzer – is faced with questions. Just how connected are the occurrences? Who knew of the resemblance between the two women? Where is Marga Mönchinger now? Is her life in danger as well? Racing the clock, the detectives search for information in either case. But they are far from prepared for what they find...
Winterberg, Blanck, and Kreuzer's third case

About Eva Ehley

Eva Ehley’s Sylt-fever goes back, if not to her birth and childhood in Berlin, at least to her wedding. Since then she and her husband and sons have spent many summers on the island together and have watched the antics of the rich and beautiful there. Eva Ehley kept her silence for a long time, but eventually her criminological creativity won out. Since then she has been a regular instigator of murder on the island – if only on paper. She has twice been nominated for the Agatha-Christie-Prize for Crime Fiction, in 2012 and 2013.
