A thousand years – the lifetimes of two oak trees or a tenth of the Holocene. A single blink in the history of the earth. Changes take place in nature over very different periods to the history of humankind. Josef H. Reichholf takes an ecological look back over the last millennium, investigating the interaction of natural history and human development, particularly climate change and its ecological, economical, political, social and cultural consequences. English sample translation available.
