Judith Hermann's first collection of stories SUMMERHOUSE, LATER was published in 1998 when the author was only 26 years old and within weeks, became a major bestseller. It went on to sell more than 250,000 copies and has been translated into 17 languages. This new collection of stories, NOTHING BUT GHOSTS, consists of seven stories in which women travel the world. Sometimes they find love; sometimes they just smoke a cigarette and return to their old lives. The longer format -- approximately 60 pages -- of these stories animates Herman’s talent in perfectly depicting moods.
