Children and parents are getting bad press these days. Children are allegedly either spoilt tyrants or neglected and violent. Parents allegedly don’t set any boundaries, don’t demand enough of their children or expect too much of them. Despite all their goodwill, we’re told, raising children nowadays is too much for many parents. The author examines the reality content of these widespread opinions, and finds: children and parents are better than their reputation.
