Andreas Lebert

Andreas Lebert has been editor-in-chief of the women’s magazine Brigitte since 2002. He developed the magazine of the Süddeutsche Zeitung, which he edited up to 1996, and the young people’s supplement Jetzt. He also designed the Living page of the weekly newspaper Die Zeit. Lebert is the son of the journalists Ursula and Norbert Lebert and the father of the writer Benjamin Lebert.

Stephan Lebert

Stephan Lebert attended the German Journalist School in Munich. He worked for the Süddeutsche Zeitung from 1985, followed by a year at Der Spiegel, and was editor-in-chief of the Tagesspiegel in Berlin from 1999 to 2004. He is now a specialist editor for Die Zeit, and has been awarded the Egon Erwin Kisch Prize. His best-selling book ‘Denn Du trägst meinen Namen’ has been translated into twelve languages.
Andreas and Stephan Lebert are brothers.

Bruno Reichart

Bruno Reichart führte 1981 in der Universitätsklinik in München seine erste Herztransplantation durch. Bis 1984 transplantierte er dort 23 Spenderherzen. 1983 gelang ihm als erstem Arzt in Deutschland eine Herz-Lungen-Transplantation, ein Jahr später folgte Reichart dem Ruf an die Universität Kapstadt. Auf Vorschlag von Christiaan Barnard, dem 1967 erstmals in der Medizingeschichte eine Herztransplantation gelang, übernahm Reichart im September 1984 die Leitung der Chirurgischen Abteilungen für Herz- und Lungenerkrankungen am Groote Schuur Hospital und am Red Cross Children’s Hospital. Im Januar 1990 kehrte Reichart als Ordinarius der Herzchirurgie des Universitätsklinikums München nach Großhadern zurück. Heute, fünfzig Jahre nach der ersten Herztransplantation, arbeitet er immer noch an vorderster Front der Forschung in der Transplantationsmedizin.

Elke Reichart

Elke Reichart absolvierte die Deutsche Journalistenschule in München, arbeitete bei Tageszeitungen, beim ZDF und als freie Journalistin in Südafrika. Dort heiratete sie 1985 den Herzchirurgen Bruno Reichart. In ihren Tagebüchern berichtet sie über eine Pionierzeit der Herz- und Herz-Lungen-Transplantation vor dem Hintergrund der letzten Tage der Apartheid.
