Claudia Kaufmann writes movingly about a young girl's path to becoming a self-confident woman.
Munich, 1964: Sabine's life is determined by rules and regulations. Her mother and her step-father Heinz are constantly concerned with their reputation. At the age of 19, she is still a minor, and the emerging social upheaval passes her by completely. However, when she falls in love with a boy from a very rich family, the door to freedom finally seems to be opening. But Sabine gets pregnant unintentionally, and the love of her life abandons her. As the mother of an illegitimate child, she has hardly any rights. In order to keep her daughter and to educate herself, she embarks on an almost pointess struggle – against all opposing forces.
