Based on the true story of Lotte Lenya, the incomparable actress and singer who, with her special voice, charming outlandishness, and zest for life captured the imagination of her contemporaries.  

In the mid-twenties, the as yet unknown actress Lotte Lenya meets her future husband Kurt Weill –  she rows him across a lake and they fall hopelessly in love. Working alongside Weill, she makes a breakthrough a few years later, when she meets Bertolt Brecht and plays the Pirate Jenny in the Threepenny Opera. But Lenya and Weill’s love has its highs and lows.

Eva Neiss, geboren 1977, hat einen Magister in Literaturwissenschaften und einen Bachelor in Psychologie. Während ihres Studiums und jahrelanger journalistischer Arbeit entdeckte sie ihre Liebe zum ausgiebigen Recherchieren und Erkunden von gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhängen. Leider kam zwischen all den Fakten das Erfinden von Geschichten zu kurz, weshalb sie sich dazu entschloss, beide Leidenschaften beim Schreiben historischer Romane zu verbinden. Heute lebt Eva Neiss glücklich zwischen Fiktion und Wirklichkeit sowie mit Mann und Sohn im Süden Hamburgs.
