When Marina Weisband asked her Twitter followers what interested them about Judaism, she was overwhelmed with questions. On account of the abundance of topics, she brought in Eliyah Havemann for support. Together they decided to answer the questions initially in the YouTube video series #FragEinenJuden and then – in expanded form – in a book. The result is a lively and vivid primer on Judaism, which no dry introduction could achieve. For they don't simply provide a list of facts but exchange ideas and give their individual perspectives: Marina Weisband as a devout, non-religious Jewess and Eliyah Havemann as a modern orthodox Jew. They don't always agree – and it is precisely this fact which reflects the diversity of Judaism.
This is a book about who Jews actually are, about the Jewish religion in general, religious currents, Jewish culture and coexistence, and, last but not least, antisemitism.
