On a dark night in Berlin’s Kastanienallee, Judith Hermann runs into her psychoanalyst – a chance encounter that sparked the three interconnected stories of We’d Have Told Each Other Everything, her new and radically original work of autofiction. The fluidity of the boundaries she creates between memoir and invention are a magical exploration of how writing transforms memory.

Judith Hermann is the author of several short-story collections and the novels Where Love Begins and Daheim, which was nominated for the Leipzig Book Fair Prize. Her work has been translated into thirty-five languages. Award-winning translator Katy Derbyshire translates many contemporary German writers. She co-hosts the popular bi-monthly podcast Dead Ladies Show.
