A hidden world in the heart of London, where a witch and a vampire must join forces to survive

Vanda lives with her sisters in London and the three of them belong to a coven of witches. As witches, it is their job to watch over the shadow beings and make sure that they don't use their demonic energy to excess. Shadow beings come in many different forms, including the handsome and charming vampire Henry, who Vanda can't stand at all. However, since they both go to the same university, they can't help but run into each other and engage in heated exchanges.

Everything could go on like this forever, but then something terrible happens: Vanda's sister Myra is suspected of having been murdered and her second sister is in mortal danger. To save her and avenge Myra's killer, Vanda has to put all her eggs in one basket and work with Henry, because he has a special advantage: Vanda's main suspect is Henry's cousin. To track him down, she has to trust the vampire. And anyway, she has to ask herself who else she can trust, because the system in which she grew up and which she thought was safe is gradually showing cracks, and suddenly it is no longer so clear who is actually a friend and who is an enemy.
