  • A squirrel, a dog and four lovable private detectives investigate on a houseboat in Amsterdam
  • Charming reading for a relaxed springtime read

It's springtime in Amsterdam, and the four investigators from the Houseboat Detective Agency are looking forward to sunshine and warmth after a hazy winter. A flowery case comes just in time: a horde of hungry voles has destroyed the tulip beds in the famous Keukenhof gardens just outside Amsterdam. The director of the park suspects a devious attack and hires the houseboat detectives, who throw themselves into the investigation with great motivation. But when a gardener from the Keukenhof team disappears, the detectives begin to suspect that ugly secrets are hidden beneath the beautiful carpets of flowers.

Amy Achterop

Amy Achterop alias Heidi van Elderen owes her first visit to Amsterdam to a forgotten street map and a hopelessly bad sense of direction. That was back in 1999. The author, who was born on the Lower Rhine in 1980, immediately fell in love with the city and has returned regularly ever since, often accompanied by her Dutch husband. Heidi van Elderen has also lived in Portugal and New Zealand, but has meanwhile settled down with her family on a small farm in Sweden.
