Evil knows no borders – a spectacular murder case keeps an entire region in suspense

At Brauneck mountain just outside of Lenggries in Bavaria, the dead body of a woman is discovered on a cliff. But what initially looks like a climbing accident, turns out to be a gruesome murder. Straw legs have been sewn onto the torso, and not long afterwards, further body parts turn up in Lake Achen in Tyrol. Are they also from the dead woman's body? But why would the perpetrator distribute the corpse across two countries? This is the first big case for young, driven Chief Inspector Alexa Jahn, who has just taken up her post at the Criminal Investigation Department in Weilheim. She could use all the support she can get, but, at the outset, she cannot count on her disillusioned colleague on the Austrian side, Chief Inspector Bernhard Krammer.

Anna Schneider

Ever since she was a child, Anna Schneider has loved stories. She listened to the tales told by the guests at her grandmother's inn, and became especially interested when things got exciting. This is why it is not surprising that she developed a penchant for criminal cases and applied to the police force after graduating from high school. Luckily, she was rejected at the time, otherwise she might never have gotten around to writing. For her thrillers, she likes to be inspired by everyday life. This is also the case for the Grenzfall series: she got the idea from a newspaper report about a missing hiker in the town of Lenggries in the Tölz region. The proximity to the Austrian border did the rest. Set in both countries, Germany and Austria, the series features two investigators who have conflicting approaches, but must find a way to grow together as a team. Anna Schneider lives with her family near Munich.
