Her father soon finds a suitable candidate for a proper wedding. But Iwa longs for freedom, not marriage. When she meets Wilhelm, a piano player who seems to earn his living as a chauffeur, he rekindles Iwa's lost passion for dance with his music. In order to make her dreams come true, she has to break free from the shackles of convention and go to Dresden - to the school of the famous Mary Wigman. Is she really prepared to give up everything for the "New German Dance" and possibly end up with nothing?
