Ilse Gräfin von Bredow

Ilse Gräfin von Bredow was born in Teichenau (Silesia) in 1922 and grew up with her siblings on a forest estate in Brandenburg. The family fled to Lower Saxony shortly before the end of the war. She worked as a freelance writer for newspapers and magazines, writing reportage and short stories. Her first book Kartoffeln mit Stippe was a sensational success. Ilse Gräfin von Bredow lives in Hamburg.
