At the funeral of Uncle Heinz, there is an uproar when it turns out that he has left his entire estate to his favorite niece Dana and has not considered anyone else. Uncle Heinz had invested his money well and profitably throughout his life, so that he can inherit a not inconsiderable sum. This is reason enough for the other family members to get their compulsory portions as quickly as possible. Dana's fiancé Justus would also like to profit quickly from the fortune his fiancée now has at her disposal, because he has big plans for the future. The family members have no idea at this point that this funeral will not be the last of its kind, but in the course of the next few months there will be several unexplained deaths in the family. Ann Kathrin Klaasen investigates, but initially has no concrete leads or suspicions.
Meanwhile, Ann Kathrin receives a visit from Helga Bornemann, Miss Moneypenny. After the death of the BKA officer Wollenweber, who also belonged to the “Club of the Knowing”, she wants to live a carefree life from now on, far away from all criminals or traitors. Ann Kathrin is to inherit the responsibility and the keys to the huge treasure trove of data that the club has stored over the years. This, of course, presents Ann Kathrin with a dilemma, because either she adheres to the rule of law and does not access the data, or she can use the data storage to convict murderers and offenders. A whole series of crimes could be solved in this way. So what to do?
