After the Summer Rain

"Atmospheric, true to life and extremely moving - the great new novel by Kristina Pfister"

As carefree as a summer's day, as serious as life can sometimes be.

In the past, they spent nearly every weekend at the old family holiday home, but now they only gather there for special occasions: Cecilia, Jonas, and Marika Ritter live scattered to the winds, leading their own lives, trying to navigate their personal crises.

When their parents decide to separate, planning to sell the house and threatening their safe haven, they aim to spend a few final weekends together there. Between letting go and holding on, in the attempt to rediscover themselves as a family, the three confront the question of who they are without the holiday home by the old mill.

Kristina Pfister

Kristina Pfister was born in Bamberg, Germany in 1987 and spent many wonderful holidays as a child on the campsites of Europe. For her, summer is at its best with her feet in the water. That's why she studied at Lake Constance, goes to the seaside every year if possible, and was delighted to be awarded a residency at the Baltic Centre for Writers and Translators on the island of Gotland in 2018. When she is not camping all over Europe or writing on Swedish islands, she lives and works in Nuremberg.
