A heartwarming and charming Christmas novel
Irma runs a delicatessen in Hamburg that is a meeting place for the whole neighborhood. She also has a stand at the Altona fish market on Sundays. There she has an admirer, the market crier Paul, but he is not her type. While clearing out her grandmother's sister's apartment, she finds a diary that contains a recipe for winning the heart of the man of her dreams. When she meets literature professor Fred, she thinks he could be the one. But when she cooks him a love menu, there is no spark between them. However, there is a surprising spark when she and Paul eat together.
