And What About Our Future? Growing up with the Climate Crisis

  • What really concerns the young generation?
  • How are mental illness and the climate crisis linked?
  • A new perspective on how we deal with the climate crisis and an important contribution to the debate on climate activism by activist groups Fridays For Future and Last Generation

Based on her own experience, Paula Steingäßer describes growing up in a world in which an entire generation is torn away from all security and convictions. A very personal dialogue that shows: We also need to talk about these experiences, about the uncertainty, the despair and the feeling of not being able to change anything. Only in this way can we succeed in telling sustainable stories and developing effective forms of activism.

Fear, self-doubt and the question: What does my future look like? Young people have always been on a quest. But in a society where the climate crisis is threatening the future, disorientation seems insurmountable. The impact this has on young people and the feelings it triggers are far too little discussed - as is the case when public debates and decision-making are primarily shaped by older generations.
