Robert Gernhardt (1937-2006) lived in Frankfurt am Main and Tuscany, where he was a writer, poet and artist. He was the recipient of numerous prizes, including the Heinrich Heine Prize and the Wilhelm Busch Prize. His extensive work is published by S. Fischer, most recently Toscana mia (2011) und Hinter der Kurve (2012).
