Tommy Jaud is a German novelist, satirist and screenwriter. In 2004, Jaud's debut novel »Vollidiot« went straight to number 1 of the bestseller lists, followed 2006 by »Resturlaub«, a »smashing contemporary novel« ( Der Spiegel ), also a number 1. The movie adaptations of the two books brought almost two million viewers to cinemas. Jaud's screenplay for the TV comedy »Two Santa Clauses« was awarded the German Comedy Prize in 2009. Jaud then wrote a sequel to »Vollidiot«, »Millionaire«, and his travel comedy »Hummeldumm« became bestseller of the year 2010. Two years later, Tommy Jaud published »Überman« as final part of his Simon-Peters-series and in 2016 the selfhelp-parody »I have to do sh*: A manifesto against bad conscience«. In 2019, Jaud's bestseller »Der Löwe büllt« delivered the perfect holiday read. Even in the turmoil of 2022, Jaud is fulfilling his entertainment obligations and publishes »Komm zu nix – Nix erledigt und trotzdem fertig«, not a novel, but feel-good stories about our daily craze and grind. They were so popular that he followed up in 2023 with new entertaining stories against planneritis: »Man müsste mal – Nichts gemacht und trotzdem happy« and went on the nationwide Good-Mood-Clubtour. Jaud is currently working on the screenplay for a »Hummeldumm«-movie and is considering titles for his new novel. Born in Franconia in Southern Germany, he now lives, laughs and works in Cologne, Vienna and Bamberg.
