Lietzenlieder

Uwe Kolbe is a searcher. His exploration of thoughts and memories in his sonnets and free verse is both playful and sensual. He uses comparisons and associations to approach questions of home and biography, and to consider landscapes and people in the USA and Brandenburg. He ventures into the field of language, finding its easy and difficult aspects, and always revealing something surprising. His new collection proves once again that he is both an expert on poetic traditions, and a confident shaper of language.
