poems

Wulf Kirsten is one of the most eloquent poets of our times. Almost lost words find a place in his work. Sensuality and clarity find expression in his poems. Quietly and yet so directly and inescapably, landscapes, childhood memories and portraits of poets unfold. Kirsten proves himself an attentive observer, an eloquent formulator and an intelligent analyst in every text. His observations are political, literary and historical, his words buoyed up by subtle humour.

‘Kirsten’s objective is the poetic colonization and poetic archaeology of his own childhood territory and the spiritualization of the quotidian.’ (Peter Hamm)
